Canucks Fall to Oilers in High-Scoring Affair
Nugent-Hopkins Leads Edmonton to Victory
EDMONTON, AB - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins tallied three points, including a goal and two assists, as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-3 at Rogers Place on Wednesday night.
Connor McDavid also had a multi-point game for the Oilers, recording a goal and an assist. Leon Draisaitl, Evan Bouchard, and Zach Hyman also found the back of the net for Edmonton.
Elias Pettersson scored a power-play goal for the Canucks, while Andrei Kuzmenko and Conor Garland added even-strength goals. Bruce Boudreau's team outshot the Oilers 39-34 but couldn't overcome Edmonton's efficient power play, which went 2-for-5.
The Oilers improved to 5-2-0 with the win, while the Canucks fell to 4-3-0.
