Zygmunt Solorz-Zak was born on May 4, 1956, in UstroĊ„, Poland. He began his career in the 1980s as a small-scale Polish cable television operator.

In 1992, Solorz founded Polsat, the first private television station in Poland. The channel quickly became a commercial success, reaching over 60% of Polish households.

Media Empire Expansion
